15. Deprivation of citizenship—The applicant who was outside Mauritius feared he had been declared persona non grata and would not be allowed to return to Mauritius. He sought an order directing the respondent to allow him to return to Mauritius. The applicant, registered as a citizen of Mauritius, is protected from deprivation of his citizenship by the clear provisions of the Mauritius Citizenship Act which limitatively spells out the reasons which may be invoked and the procedure to be followed for depriving such a citizen of his status of citizen (see section 11 of the Act).
