185. Emergency Powers (Arrest and Detention of Suspected Persons)
Regulations 1972—The Court held that solitary confinement and the physical
and mental discomfort caused by such confinement, did not constitute torture or inhuman treatment within the meaning of section 7 (1) of the Constitution of Mauritius. Virahsawmy v Commissioner of Police (1972).
