134D. Offering bet-related service without holding a licence (ap) in section 143, by adding the following new subsection – (3) Where the Authority directs a licensed operator to exclude a punter under the self-exclusion program, that licensed operator shall not allow that punter to place a bet or enter into any gambling transaction, whether on a licensed premise or by remote communication. (aq) in section 146, by adding the following new subsection – (4) On receiving information or detecting any act of cheating under this Act, the Authority or any person shall forthwith refer the matter to the Police des Jeux for investigation. (ar) in section 153, by inserting, after subsection (7C), the following new subsection – (7D) Any person who contravenes section 105 shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 100,000 rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years. (as) in section 154A, by inserting, after subsection (1), the following new subsection – (1A) Notwithstanding subsection (1), where a person makes an application for, or occupies, the post of gaming Acts 2026 489 technician under section 29D or bookmaker’s clerk under section 49, the responsibility for determining whether that person is a fit and proper person, including whether that person has a criminal record, shall lie with the relevant licensee or employer, provided that the licensee or employer shall ensure that such determination is made in good faith and having due regard to the duties and responsibilities of the post. (at) in section 155 – (i) in subsection (4), by deleting the words “5,000 rupees” and replacing them by the words “100,000 rupees”; (ii) by repealing subsection (5) and replacing it by the following subsection – (5) In this section – “specified person” – (a) means the Authority, the Board, the Responsible Gambling Board, any Committee, a member or co-opted member of any Board or Committee, the Chief Executive, any employee or any person engaged by, or on behalf of, the Authority under a contract for services, consultancy or otherwise; (b) includes the Director-General, any officer of the Mauritius Revenue Authority or any other person who has access to any information referred to in subsection (1) in connection with the administration of this Act or pursuant to any function, service or arrangement under this Act. 490 Acts 2026 (au) in section 165, by adding the following new subsection – (20) Any person who, on the commencement of section 29F(6), is the holder of a valid amusement machine operator licence and is also operating outside its principal place of business shall continue to operate outside the principal place of business until the expiry of his licence.
