Section 49: Registration of bookmaker’s clerk

49. Registration of bookmaker’s clerk (1) No bookmaker, other than a bookmaker operating through remote communication, shall employ any person to assist him in the conduct of his betting operations unless he registers that person with the Board as a bookmaker’s clerk. (2) No person shall be registered under subsection (1) unless he— (a) is of the age of 21 or above; and (b) is a fit and proper person. (3) Any registration under this section shall be subject to such conditions as may be determined by the Board. (4) Every bookmaker’s clerk shall, at all times in the course of his employment, have in his possession his registration certificate issued by the Board.
