94A. Time limit to pay licence fee upon renewal Where an application for the renewal of a licence is made under section 94, any licence fee specified in the Third Schedule shall be paid before the expiry of the period of the licence specified in that Schedule. (c) in section 94B, by repealing subsection (1) and replacing it by the following subsection – (1) Where a person fails to pay the licence fee specified in the Third Schedule within the time limit referred to in section 94A, he shall be liable to pay, in addition to the licence fee payable, a penalty of 50 per cent of the amount of the licence fee payable, provided that payment is effected not later than 15 days after the expiry of the licence. (d) in section 109, by inserting, after subsection (2), the following new subsection – (2A) (a) A gaming machine operator, limited payout machine operator and hotel casino operator shall keep all his gaming machines, limited payout machines, jackpot 456 Acts 2024 system and casino management system, as the case may be, powered on at all times. (b) A gaming machine operator, limited payout machine operator and hotel casino operator shall not, without the prior approval of the Authority, power off his gaming machines, limited payout machines, jackpot system and casino management system, as the case may be, for maintenance purposes. (e) in the Third Schedule, in CATEGORY 3 – (i) by deleting the item “Bookmaker licence for conducting fixed odds betting on local races” and its corresponding entries and replacing it by the following item and its corresponding entries – Bookmaker licence for conducting fixed odds betting on local races – (a) at the racecourse 1,000,000 payable in 4 instalments, Yearly or part each instalment being payable on or thereof before the first day of every period of 3 months (b) through remote 3,500,000 payable in 4 instalments, Yearly or part communication each instalment being payable on or thereof before the first day of every period of 3 months 40,000 payable in 4 instalments, each instalment being payable on or before the first day of every period of 3 months Acts 2024 457 (ii) by deleting the item “Totalisator operator licence” and its corresponding entries and replacing it by the following item and its corresponding entries – Totalisator operator licence – (a) for operating at 1,000,000 payable in 4 instalments, Yearly or the racecourse each instalment being payable on or part thereof before the first day of every period of 3 months (b) for operating 40,000 in respect of each place of Yearly or outside the business, payable in 4 instalments, part thereof each instalment being payable on or racecourse before the first day of every period of 3 months (c) for operating (i) 40,000 in respect of the principal Yearly or through remote place of business, payable in part thereof 4 instalments, each instalment communication being payable on or before at such place the first day of every period of outside the 3 months racecourse as the Board may (ii) 40,000 in respect of every Yearly or approve other place at which facilities part thereof are provided, payable in 4 instalments, each instalment being payable on or before the first day of every period of 3 months (d) for conducting 3,500,000 payable in 4 instalments, Yearly or local race inter- each instalment being payable on or part thereof totalisator betting before the first day of every period of 3 months (e) for conducting 3,500,000 payable in 4 instalments, Yearly or fo e Board may (ii) 40,000 in respect of every Yearly or approve other place at which facilities part thereof are provided, payable in 4 instalments, each instalment being payable on or before the first day of every period of 3 months (d) for conducting 3,500,000 payable in 4 instalments, Yearly or local race inter- each instalment being payable on or part thereof totalisator betting before the first day of every period of 3 months (e) for conducting 3,500,000 payable in 4 instalments, Yearly or foreign race- each instalment being payable on or part thereof inter-totalisator before the first day of every period of betting 3 months (f) in respect of each 40,000 payable in 4 instalments, each Yearly or terminal instalment being payable on or before part thereof the first day of every period of 3 months 458 Acts 2024
