94B. Penalty for failure to submit an application for
renewal and pay licence fee within time limit
(ii) in subsection (1), by deleting the words “15 days after
the expiry of the licence” and replacing them by the
words “the date of expiry of the licence”;
(iii) by inserting, after subsection (1), the following new
subsection –
(1A) Where a person fails to submit an
application for the renewal of a licence pursuant to
section 94(1B), he shall be liable to pay, in addition to
the licence fee payable, a penalty of 25 per cent of the
amount of the licence fee payable or 100,000 rupees,
whichever is lower.
(iv) in subsection (2), by deleting the words
“subsection (1)” and replacing them by the words
“subsection (1) or (1A)”;
(ai) in section 99, in subsection (9), in paragraph (b)(ii),
by deleting the words “200,000 rupees” and replacing them
by the words “400,000 rupees”;
(aj) in section 100, by repealing subsection (2) and replacing it by
the following subsection –
(2) Where the Board gives a direction under
subsection (1) to a licensee other than a horse-racing organiser,
a collector or an operator of dart games, the direction may
include provisions regarding the manner in which the licensee
is to foster responsible gambling in order to minimise harm
caused by gambling.

(ak) in section 109 –
(i) in subsection (2), in paragraph (a), by deleting the
words “the Director-General” and replacing them by
the words “the Director-General and take all necessary
steps to ensure its continuous online connection with
the central electronic monitoring system as from that
date”;
(ii) in subsection (4), by inserting, after the words
“have access”, the words “, in real time,”;
(iii) by repealing subsection (5) and replacing it by the
following subsection –
(5) In this section –
“equipment” means any gaming machine,
limited payout machine, totalisator,
including any software and server used by
a licensee for the conduct and operation
of betting and gambling activities, lottery
games or VLTs.
