138. Unlawful transfer of licence
(1) Any transfer, assignment or subletting of a licence shall be null and
void.
(2) Subject to subsection (3), any person who transfers, assigns or sublets his licence to any other person shall commit an offence and, without
prejudice to the suspension, revocation or cancellation of the licence under
section 99, shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 500,000
rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years.
(3) The Operator which transfers, assigns or sublets its licence to any
other person shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a
fine not exceeding 5 million rupees.
