Section 4: Objects of Authority

4. Objects of Authority The objects of the Authority shall be to— (a) regulate and control gambling activities and the organisation of lottery games, sweepstakes and lotteries; (b) regulate and monitor the organisation of horse racing; (c) promote public confidence in the integrity of the gambling industry and the horse racing industry; (d) ensure that gambling is conducted in a fair and transparent manner; (e) foster responsible gambling in order to minimise harm caused by gambling; (f) promote tourism, employment and economic development generally; and (g) promote the welfare and leisure of the race-going public.
