Letter of demand: money owed to you
To: The person or business that owes you
When to send it
Use it before a claim. Most courts expect you to have asked first, and it costs nothing to have asked.

This letter does not threaten anything juris cannot stand behind. It states a sum you assert and a date.
What you fill in

After sending
Keep a copy and a proof of sending. Note that a small claim cannot be brought more than one year after the cause of action arose.
These are letters to the other side, or to a body that takes written complaints. None of them is a court filing. This page is legal information, not legal advice. juris never predicts how a matter will be decided. Check the source before you rely on a passage.
