12. Offences
Any person who—
(a) without lawful authority, removes, defaces, destroys or tampers
with a notice displayed pursuant to section 4 (1) (a); or
(b) otherwise contravenes this Act,
shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not
exceeding one million rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5
years.
