20. Penalties
Any person who contravenes this Act or any order or regulations made
under it shall commit an offence, and shall, on conviction, where no penalty
is otherwise provided, be liable to a fine not exceeding 1,000 rupees and to
imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, and any animal, carcase,
fodder or litter imported into Mauritius contrary to this Act shall be forfeited.
