Section 7: Confidentiality

7. Confidentiality (1) The Commissioner, every officer designated under section 3 (4) and every person whose services are enlisted under section 6 (2) (a) shall maintain, during or after their term of office or period of service or assignment in the Office of the Commissioner, as the case may be, the confidentiality of any document or information that comes to their knowledge or possession in the performance of their duties and functions under this Act. (2) Except for the purposes of this Act, the Commissioner, an officer designated under section 3 (4) and a person whose services are enlisted under section 6 (2) (a) shall not disclose to any third party any information obtained from a lending institution, a person applying for a credit facility, a borrower or a guarantor.
