Section 8: Meetings of Council

8. Meetings of Council (1) The Council shall meet as often as the Chairperson thinks necessary but at least once every month. (2) A meeting of the Council shall be held at such time and place as the Chairperson thinks fit. (3) (a) At a meeting of the Council, 9 members shall constitute a quorum. (b) Any decision of the Council shall be by a resolution of the majority of the members present. (4) The Chairperson shall chair every meeting and, in the absence of the Chairperson, the members present shall elect one of the members to chair the meeting. (5) A special meeting of the Council shall be convened by the Secretary within 21 days of the receipt of a request in writing signed by not less than 5 members and specifying the purpose of the request. (6) The Council may, where it considers necessary, co-opt such other persons with relevant expertise not already available to the Council, to assist it in relation to any matter before it. (7) Subject to this section, the Council shall regulate its meetings and proceedings in such manner as it may determine. B13A – 7 [Issue 10] Building Control Act
