25. Offences
Any person who—
(a) hinders, obstructs or molests an authorised officer, or any person delegated by or accompanying the authorised officer, in the
performance of his functions under this Act;
(b) is required to make and deliver a statement under this Act, and
without reasonable excuse, refuses to make or deliver the statement, or wilfully makes a statement which is false or misleading
in any material particular; or
(c) otherwise contravenes this Act or any subsidiary enactment
made under this Act,
shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not
exceeding 2,000 rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding
12 months.
