35. Fees for marriages
(1) (a) No fee shall be charged for the publication of a civil marriage or
celebration of a civil marriage at any office.
(b) Where the intending parties to a civil marriage request an officer
to celebrate the marriage in any private premises, the officer shall comply
with such request and the parties shall—
(i) pay to the Government the appropriate fee specified in the
Schedule;
(ii) if so requested by the officer, provide a means of conveyance to and from the private premises.
(2) Where any marriage is celebrated under this Act, the officer shall
forthwith deliver to the spouses, free of charge, an attestation of the celebration of the marriage.
