13D. Participation of victim in sentencing hearing (1) Where a person has been convicted of an offence under this Act, the Court shall allow a victim, if he so desires, to make a statement, whether in writing or orally, at the hearing on sentence under section 132A of the Criminal Procedure Act, in relation to the impact which the offence had on him and his family, as well as any loss which he has suffered as a result of being a victim of that offence. (2) The Court may take into consideration a statement under subsection (1) for the purpose of sentencing the person convicted of an offence under this Act and for the purpose of awarding compensation under section 16. 692 Acts 2023
