143. Taking part in riot*
(1) Any person who takes part in a riot shall commit an offence and
shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 100,000 rupees and to
imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years.
(2) In this section—
“riot” means an unlawful assembly which has begun to execute the
purpose for which it is assembled by a breach of the peace.
