53. Body and luggage searches
(1) Subject to subsection (2), any police officer or customs officer may at
any point of entry into Mauritius carry out body searches and searches of
luggage whenever he has reason to suspect that a person seeking to enter
Mauritius may be concerned in the commission of an offence against this
Act.

(2) No woman shall be subjected to body search except by a woman police officer, woman customs officer or a police wardress.
