4. Data Protection Office
(1) There is established for the purposes of this Act a Data Protection
Office which shall be a public office.
(2) The head of the Office shall be known as the Data Protection Commissioner.

(3) The Commissioner shall be a barrister with at least 5 years’ standing
at the Bar.
(4) The Commissioner shall be assisted by such public officers as may be
necessary.
(5) Every public officer referred to in subsection (4) shall be under the
administrative control of the Commissioner.
