19. Bills of exchange and promissory notes
(1) Sections 2 to 8 of the Courts (Civil Procedure) Act shall extend to actions before the Intermediate Court or a District Court for the recovery of
bills of exchange and promissory notes where the amount claimed is within
the jurisdiction of such Court.
(2) The forms of procedure contained in the Schedule to the Courts (Civil
Procedure) Act shall, mutatis mutandis, be applicable to similar proceedings
before the Intermediate Court or a District Court, and all acts, matters and
things which under that Act may be done and performed by the Supreme
Court or a Judge, may in any similar proceedings before the Intermediate
Court or a District Court be done or performed by a Magistrate.
(3) Judgments recovered in such cases may be executed as any other
judgment of the Intermediate Court or a District Court, and costs in such
proceedings when allowed by the Magistrate shall be taxed.
