20. Import licence
(1) Notwithstanding the Freeport Act, any person who wishes to import
any firearm or ammunition into Mauritius may do so only under the authority
of an import permit.
(2) Every application for an import licence shall be made—
(a) in such form as may be prescribed; and
(b) prior to the importation of the firearm or ammunition.
(3) An import permit shall be issued—
(a) subject to such conditions as may be prescribed or imposed by
the Commissioner; and
(b) on payment to the Commissioner of the fee specified in the Second Schedule.
