22. Safekeeping of firearms and ammunition
(1) The Commissioner shall provide a safekeeping service for firearms
and ammunition belonging to private parties.
(1A) (a) The safekeeping service referred to in subsection (1) shall be
provided on such terms and conditions and for such period, subject to paragraph (b), as the Commissioner may determine.
(b) Any firearm and ammunition in transit shall be kept for safekeeping at the Police Armoury for a period not exceeding 90 days.
(c) Where any person fails to collect his firearm and ammunition
within the period determined by the Commissioner under paragraph (a) or the
period specified in paragraph (b), as the case may be, the Commissioner may
impound the firearm and ammunition.
(2) There shall be paid for the safekeeping of firearms and ammunition at
the Police Armoury the appropriate fees specified in the Second Schedule.
