31. Control during serious disturbances
Where the President of the Republic of Mauritius has issued a
Proclamation declaring that a state of public emergency exists, any person,
who, while the Proclamation remains in force—
(a) parts with the ownership or possession of any firearm or
ammunition by way of sale, letting on hire, pledge, gift, loan for
use, or in any other way to any other person;

(b) obtains ownership or possession of any firearm or ammunition,
by way of purchase, hire, pledge, gift, loan for use, or in any
other way,
shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 200,000 rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 years.
