16. Protection of fish
(1) Subject to subsection (2), no person shall fish or cause any person to
fish—
(a) any undersized fish;
(b) any crab or lobster in the berried state; or
(c) any marine turtle, marine turtle egg or any marine mammal.
(2) The Permanent Secretary may authorise, in writing, and subject to
such terms and conditions as he may impose, the catching of—
(a) any fish specified in subsection (1) or marine turtle eggs for scientific, reproductive, or any other purpose beneficial to the
community;
(b) undersized fish by the operator of a fish farm for stocking the
fish farm;
(c) undersized fish specified in the Second Schedule for use as bait.
