29. Application for and issue of licences
(1) A person who wishes to operate—
(a) a bait gear;
(b) a canard net;
(c) a gill net;
(d) a large net;

(e) a basket trap;
(f) a shrimp net; or
(g) a pocket net,
shall make a written application for a gear licence to the Permanent Secretary.
(2) Upon receipt of an application under subsection (1), the Permanent
Secretary may request the applicant to furnish such particulars as he may
think fit.
(3) Where the Permanent Secretary is satisfied that a gear licence may
be issued, he may issue the licence on payment of the prescribed fee.
(4) A licence issued under subsection (3) shall be—
(a) in the prescribed form; and
(b) subject to such terms and conditions as the Permanent Secretary
thinks fit.
(5) The Permanent Secretary may cause to be affixed a seal or other
identification mark on such gear as may be specified by him.
