18. Security in respect of crew
Where a member of the crew of a vessel deserts the vessel while in Mauritius or is, for any reason, to be left in Mauritius after the departure of the
vessel, the immigration officer may require the transport company operating
that vessel or its master to deposit with him such sum of money or security
as he thinks necessary for the return of the member of the crew to the vessel or for his removal from Mauritius.
