2. Interpretation In this Act— “Minister” means the Minister to whom responsibility for the subject of industry is assigned; “quantity” means any physical characteristic which may be measured; “SI unit” means a unit of the International System of Units approved by the General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) established under the Metre Convention of 1875; “vessel” has the same meaning as in the Ports Act.
