7. Abandonment
(1) Where any land in relation to which a notice under section 6 (1) has
been published is not to be acquired compulsorily, the Minister may, at any
time after the publication of the notice, declare by a fresh notice published in
the Gazette that the intended acquisition of the land is abandoned.
(2) Where, within 8 months after the date of the second publication of a
notice in the Gazette under section 6 (1), the land has not been acquired
compulsorily or has been abandoned, any interested person may serve a

notice on the authorised officer requiring the acquisition of the land to be
completed or abandoned.
(3) Where a notice has been served under subsection (2) and the land to
which it relates has not been acquired compulsorily within one month of the
date of that notice, the intended acquisition shall be deemed to have been
abandoned.
