26. Privilege of Councillor
(1) No action shall lie against a Councillor in respect of any statement or
communication made by him to the local authority where he had a legal, social or moral interest or duty to make the statement or communication and
the authority had, in turn, a corresponding interest or duty to receive the
statement or communication.
(2) The privilege conferred by subsection (1) shall extend only to a
statement or communication on the subject with respect to which the privilege exists, and shall not extend to anything that is not inherent or pertinent
to the discharge of the duty which creates the privilege.
