219. Powers of arrest
(1) (a) A police officer may arrest, without warrant, any person committing an offence under this Act.
(b) Where a seafarer is arrested and detained under subsection (1),
the master shall make an entry to that effect in the official log book as soon
as convenient after the arrest.
(2) The master of a Mauritius ship which is at sea may arrest and detain
any seafarer who commits an offence on board the ship where he has reasonable ground to believe that the arrest is necessary to prevent serious disorder on board the ship.
