9. Officers’ reports
Every surveyor or inspector shall—
(a) report to the Director—
(i) on the nature and cause of any accident or damage which
any ship has or is alleged to have sustained or caused;
(ii) whether any requirement, restriction or prohibition imposed
by or under this Act has been complied with or not;
(iii) whether the hull, machinery and equipment of a ship are
sufficient and in good condition; and
(iv) on any article found in, or document carried on, a ship; and
(b) issue such certificates as the Director may require him to do.
