3. Application of Act
(1) This Act shall apply to—
(a) any foreign State, subject to any condition, variation or modification in any existing or future agreement between Mauritius and
that State; and
(b) any international criminal tribunal.
(2) This Act shall apply to requests for assistance in relation to serious
offences committed before the coming into operation of this Act.
(3) Nothing in this Act shall preclude the making and granting of an application in relation to a criminal matter under the Letters of Request Rules 1985.
(4) Nothing in this Act shall prevent informal assistance and continued
informal assistance between Mauritius and any other State.
