9. Protection of retiring allowance
A retiring allowance shall not be assignable or transferable or liable to be
assigned, sequestered or levied upon except for the purpose of satisfying—
(a) a debt due to the State;
(b) any sum recoverable under an order of a Court for the payment
of periodical sums of money towards the maintenance of the
wife, former wife or minor child of the person to whom the allowance is payable.
