45D. Jurisdiction
(1) Notwithstanding section 114 of the Courts Act and section 72 of the
District and Intermediate Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act, a Magistrate shall
have jurisdiction to try all offences under this Act or any regulations made under it and may impose any penalty provided by this Act or those regulations.
(2) Notwithstanding any other enactment, any civil or criminal proceedings instituted under it shall, in the Island of Mauritius, be entered before the
District Court of Port Louis.
