Section 45J: Power to summon

45J. Power to summon (1) The Permanent Secretary may, by written notice, summon any person whom he believes can give information relating to the administration or enforcement of this Act to— (a) attend at such place and time as may be specified in the notice and to produce any document which the Permanent Secretary may require; or (b) give orally or in writing all such information as may be demanded of him by the Permanent Secretary. (2) Any person summoned under subsection (1) who— (a) fails to attend at the time and place specified in the notice; (b) refuses to answer faithfully any questions put to him by the Permanent Secretary; (c) gives any false or misleading information; or (d) refuses to produce a document required by the Permanent Secretary, shall commit an offence.
