Section 5: Orphan’s pension

5. Orphan’s pension (1) Subject to subsection (2) and section 10, an orphan shall be entitled to an orphan’s pension as long as— (a) he is— (i) under the age of 15; or (ii) in the case of an orphan who is receiving full-time education, under the age of 20; and (b) he is not married. (2) An orphan’s pension shall be— (a) paid to the guardian of the orphan or such other person having the custody of the orphan as the National Pensions Officer may determine; and (b) devoted by the person receiving it for the exclusive benefit of the orphan.
