Section 5D: Workfare Programme Fund

5D. Workfare Programme Fund (1) The Workfare Programme Fund set up under section 45 of the Employment Rights Act shall hold an account to be known as the Workfare Programme Account. (2) The Workfare Programme Account shall be credited with— (a) the levy payable at the appropriate rate specified in the Second Schedule to the Human Resource Development Act; (b) all monies appropriated by the National Assembly for the purposes of the Workfare Programme; and (c) any interests on investments. (3) There shall be paid out of the Workfare Programme Account— (a) the Transition Unemployment Benefit payable at the rates specified in the Third Schedule; (b) the National Pensions Fund contribution payable under section 44 (3) of the Employment Rights Act; (c) all expenses incurred in the administration of the Workfare Programme Fund.
