18. Director-General
There shall be a Director-General of the Open University who shall—
(a) be appointed by the Prime Minister on the recommendation of
the Minister;
(b) be the chief executive and academic officer of the Open University;
and
(c) hold office on such terms and conditions as may be specified in
the Statutes.
