Section 5: Powers and duties of Minister

5. Powers and duties of Minister (1) The Minister shall ensure consistency and continuity in the formulation and execution of policies and development plans designed to further the objects of this Act. (2) Without prejudice to the generality of subsection (1), the Minister shall— (a) give such directions as are appropriate and as will be conducive to the efficient, effective, economical, impartial and transparent implementation of policy and administration under this Act; (b) oversee the National Planning and Development Commission; (c) appoint committees to advise him on any aspect of land use planning and development; (d) take all such other necessary actions and decisions as will enable him to discharge the functions devolving on him for the purposes of this Act.
