59. The Parliamentary Committee (1) There shall for the purposes of this Act be a Parliamentary Committee for the monitoring of the Independent Commission against Corruption. (2) The Parliamentary Committee shall be composed of 9 members, 5 of whom shall be designated by the Prime Minister and 4 of whom shall be designated by the Leader of the Opposition. (3) The Prime Minister shall designate one of the members to be Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee. (4) A member of the Parliamentary Committee may, at any time, be removed as member of the Committee— (a) by the Prime Minister, in the case of a member designated by him; (b) by the Leader of the Opposition, in the case of a member designated by him. (5) The Clerk of the Assembly shall be the Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee. (6) Subject to subsection (7), the Director-General and the Financial Secretary shall, and the Director of Audit, if so requested, may, attend every meeting of the Parliamentary Committee. (7) The Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee may excuse the Financial Secretary from attending a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee.
