28. Custody record and video recording (1) A custody record containing the information specified in the Third Schedule shall be kept in respect of any person detained pursuant to the powers conferred by section 27. (2) A video recording shall be made and kept in the manner specified in the Fourth Schedule in respect of any person detained pursuant to the powers conferred by section 27. (3) A video recording under this section shall, notwithstanding the common law rule against hearsay, be admissible in evidence in the course of any judicial proceedings to the same extent and in the same manner as documentary evidence would be admissible. (4) In this section— “video recording” includes the recording of visual images or sound by electronic or other technological means.
