126. Detention order
(1) Where the Leprosy Board reports that—
(a) the person alleged to be affected with leprosy is so affected; or
(b) it is doubtful whether he is so affected or not,

the Magistrate shall, unless that person is exempted by the Permanent Secretary under section 135, order him to be removed to the leper hospital to be
detained in accordance with this Part.
(2) An order under subsection (1) shall be—
(a) termed a detention order;
(b) addressed to the medical officer in charge of the leper hospital;
and
(c) delivered to a police officer, together with the report referred to
in this section.
(3) A detention order shall—
(a) authorise the reception and detention of the person named in the
order in the leper hospital;
(b) where the person named in the order is detained in isolation at
any place outside the leper hospital, further authorise any police
officer to conduct that person to the leper hospital.
