17. Offence committed by detainee
Subject to this Act, where a Court convicts a person of an offence committed while he was a detainee in a Correctional Youth Centre and sentences
him to a term of imprisonment, the Court shall—
(a) in assessing the length of the term, take into consideration the
period of that person’s detention which remained unexpired at
the time of the conviction; and

(b) cancel the order committing the detainee to the Correctional
Youth Centre.
