34. Special security measures
(1) Where the Commissioner considers it desirable to take special measures for securing a detainee who is under treatment in a hospital or mental
hospital, he may deliver the detainee into the charge of a number of persons,
not being less than 2, one of whom shall remain with the detainee during
such time as may be determined by the Commissioner.
(2) Every person receiving charge of a detainee under subsection (1) may
do everything reasonably necessary to prevent him from escaping and shall
be answerable for his safe custody until—
(a) he is handed over to the officer in charge on his discharge from
hospital or mental hospital; or
(b) the expiry of his period of detention,
whichever is the earlier.
