42. Withholding of document by Receiver
(1) Where a document which is presented for registration—
(a) is the original or a scanned or digital copy; or
(b) contains information which may be useful for the discovery of
unpaid duty or for assessment of additional duty,
the Receiver may withhold the document for a period not exceeding 24 hours.
(2) The Receiver may—
(a) draw up a copy of a document withheld under subsection (1); and
(b) cause the copy drawn up under paragraph (a) to be certified as a
true copy of the document by the person who produced the
document for registration.
(3) Where the person who produced the document refuses to certify a
copy under subsection (2), the Receiver may certify the copy to be a true
copy of the document presented for registration.
