45. Projections in canals prohibited
No person shall make any projection into, or any dike, dam, weir, erection, basin, drinking-place, or pond, in the course of a canal or of any branch
of a canal, the water of which returns to the canal, or, change the level,
depth, width, or direction of the canal or branch, without the previous written consent—
(a) of the riverains below; or
(b) in the case of canals administered by a corporation or other public body, of the corporation or body.
