47. Mode of administering classes of canals
(1) Canals shall be managed and administered by the community of
riverains in accordance with this Act, except in the case of any canal—
(a) for the administration of which some other body or individuals
are appointed in the title to that canal; or
(b) belonging to a corporation or other body for the benefit of any
part of the community.
(2) A canal specified in subsection (1) (b) shall be administered by the
corporation or body.
(3) Notwithstanding subsection (1), this Act shall apply to the appointment and powers of syndics and guardians for all canals.
