Section 110: Unlawfully supplying liquor

110. Unlawfully supplying liquor (1) Any— (a) person who knowingly sells or supplies intoxicating liquor to a driver of a public service vehicle or goods vehicle while the driver is on duty; and (b) driver who buys or consumes intoxicating liquor while he is on duty, shall commit an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 5,000 rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months. (2) For the purposes of this section, the driver of a public service vehicle or goods vehicle shall be deemed to be on duty during the time when he is in charge, or responsible for the driving, of the vehicle in the course of any journey, including the period of any halt during the journey other than a halt overnight.
