Section 148: Number of trailers on road

148. Number of trailers on road (1) The number of trailers which may be drawn by a motor vehicle on a road shall not exceed, in the case of— (a) a heavy locomotive or light locomotive, 2; (b) a motor tractor, one if laden or 2 if unladen; or (c) a motor car or a heavy motor car, one, or such greater or lesser number as may be determined by the Authority in relation to those classes of motor vehicles under such conditions as the Authority may stipulate. (2) In this section, “trailer” does not include a vehicle used solely for carrying water for the purposes of— (a) the drawing vehicle; or (b) an agricultural vehicle which is not constructed to carry a load.
