43. Age of driver
(1) A person under the age of 15 shall not drive a motor vehicle on a road.
(2) A person under the age of 17 shall not drive a motor vehicle other
than an autocycle on a road.
(3) A person under the age of 18 shall not drive a motor vehicle other
than an autocycle, a motorcycle or an invalid carriage on a road.
(4) A person under the age of 18 shall not drive on a road in—
(a) a public service vehicle;
(b) a locomotive;
(c) a motor tractor; or
(d) a heavy motor car.

(5) The burden of establishing a person’s age shall rest on the applicant
for a driving licence.
(6) Any person who—
(a) drives; or
(b) causes or permits any other person to drive,
a motor vehicle in contravention of this section shall commit an offence.
(7) A person who is prohibited, under this section, by reason of his age,
from driving a motor vehicle or a motor vehicle of any class shall, for the
purpose of this Part, be deemed to be disqualified under this Part from holding or obtaining any licence, other than a licence to drive the motor vehicle
which he is not, by this section, forbidden to drive.
